Waiting

It seems I spend a lot of my time in life waiting. Waiting for laundry to finish, waiting for my son's classes to be done, so I can go home, waiting for someone to do something, so that I can do something else. Waiting!! What I want to do is wait on the Lord. Psalm 27:14 says "Wait patiently for the LORD. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the LORD." That's what I want to learn - to wait on the Lord.

Seeing Hope

I am so thankful that the Lord promises us hope! These past few years have been filled with heartache, sorrow, lots of things that I just don't understand. But - I am feeling hopeful! Hopeful for the future, hopeful for my family. Hope - what a glorious word.

I keep reminding myself - - -

That it is worth it all! I titled my blog that for a reason! Since I last wrote, I wish I could say that life was peachy keen and my family became normal. But, since I don't know normal is, that hasn't happened. What I can say though, is that God remains faithful to my family no matter what!! He is a constant in my daily life, and for that I am thankful!

As we move towards the day that we celebrate the birth of Christ, may be be even reminded of his great love and faithfulness!

2009 - it's here!!!

So, I thought I would add another thing to my plan for 2009! I am participating in the picture a day challenge (anyone else?). It's where you take a picture each day and get it in an album. Good plan for scrapbookers, and non-scrapbookers alike. Just documenting every day life. So far, I have kept up with the challenge!! Of course, we won't mention the fact that only 3 days have passed in the year thus far!! And because some days it is just hard (IMHO) to let one picture represent the day, I have done two little mini-digital layouts. They are completed and uploaded to Costco, and ready to pick up (hopefully) tomorrow. So, here they are: - well there they are - up there. Not having the best of luck getting blogger to put pics where I want them. Oh well, at least they are posting. Hmmmm, I told them all to center, and only one did. Oh well. Anyway, that's that.

We had a different sort of Christmas. Our oldest was gone to Grandma and Grandpa's for Christmas. First time not having everyone home. I guess - since he is going on 16, this is a sign of the times to come. And it was just us - the remaining four of us anyway. No family around, and the one friend we had hoped to be able to make it was stranded in Seattle, due to the weather. Kind of quiet, but we made it through!

So, I am ready for routines to get underway again! Hopefully the weather won't keep school from starting on Monday. I start my classes at Whatcom on Monday. Get back to teaching on Tuesday, as I am subbing for another teacher! So for a week or two, I will work four days instead of two (at that job anyway!). My other job doesn't provide any breaks such as that. Sunday is the only day it doesn't have to be attended to! Well, change is in the air and I am ready!!!

So, Happy New Year to each of you who may happen to read this post.

So, consistency remains an issue for me!!

Since I wrote last, we have been busy (who hasn't!!) We enjoyed Thanksgiving weekend at Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, WA. We went and enjoyed the sights around Olympia, our State capital. Had school conferences and early releases - both always fun - hmmmmm. I have tried to get some crafty stuff done. And have actually succeeded. In a few things. Nothing finished - not that that surprises me. But many things in different stages of completion!!

Today, I took placement tests, and registered as a student in the Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education. I thought I needed something else to add to my schedule! So, I will start a full slate of classes in January. Woo Hoo!! I believe I will enjoy it. And I know it will be good!! When it is all said and done, I will have a piece of paper that says I really can do what I have been doing for the past many years!!

Well, I guess I tried to fume my hubby out of the house tonight. One of my kids thought it would be fun to make crayons out of the old chunks of crayons. So, we did. And it was fun. And it was stinky. And my husband, with his weird neurological system, etc - well, it has had quite the effect on him. Not in a good way. So, I guess I will go tend to him. Like I said, I needed to add something else in!!

Hope your week is an awesome one!! Blessings to all.

Blog Surfing

Do you ever do that - Blog Surf? I can get lost for hours. And, often times, I do. Well, tonight I found a great one. Some delicious sounding recipes - and they even seem quite simple. So, I thought I'd share it here. Mainly, so I don't forget it, and secondly - you might enjoy it too. It is called Picky Palate.

So, today was a fun day. Had a blast with my daughter. Yea - right. NOT!!! Something set her off, and it did not end til I finally had her in her room at school. She was none too happy to be there. But, I was sure glad she was there. And according to her teacher (love her!) she was just fine after that. Hmmm, what am I doing wrong. Nope - don't answer that, please! Suffice it to say that when she got home this evening after school and scouts, she came home to a quite empty room. Yep - all except for some books and 4 or 5 Barbies, her room is quite empty. OK - her keepsakes/collectibles are there. I didn't want to pack up all her rocks, all her shells, all her beanie babies, all her breakable dolls, etc, etc. But actual play stuff - it's gone. Haven't decided how she will earn it back. We'll see. When I told her about it on the way home - she said = thank you. HUH????? Thank you. Oh my. Made me scratch my head. Odd child alert. Yup - odd child.

We are preparing for our fun little adventure. Still - the kids haven't a clue. SO FUN!!!

OH - Found another site - a fun one. I know you can make a playlist on Facebook. And I have, but this is pretty cool too. It's called Pandora Radio. Fun stuff! Enjoy!

So, another day gone. yea. Hope your Monday was good. Blessings to each of you!

Another week begins!!

This is going to be a GREAT week. But - I can't tell you why, just in case any of my kids read this (doubt it!!). But my dh and I are truly looking forward to it. And a week with only 2 1/2 days of school - well, what could be better! And I only have to teach one day (Wednesday), and work at my *real job* on Monday. YEA!! Woo hoo!!

I will update later on this week, or early on next week with details. And pictures. Yep - lots of pictures to be taken!

So, I planned to keep up on this blog, so I could have some sort of record of what happens in my life, since I seem to forget so much - so quickly. And you can see how well I am doing with that. NOT! But, even if I only make it with a post a week, that is better than I was doing before.

Our oldest, Matthew, went mountain biking today up on North Fork. Wasn't it a beautiful day! So, (we'll see how well I do at uploading a pic!) here is a picture of him out today. Well, ten minutes later - I did it! He said that on either side of this bridge is a 30 -40 foot drop into a creek if you fall. You know there are just some things that you don't have to tell your mom!! This is probably one of them. Anyway, he has some great friends that he goes with, and he even drove (he can do that, since his friends are all grown-ups with licenses!) He is doing really good (well?) at driving. Totally improved and does well with changing gears, etc.

So, hmmm, can't think of anything else really totally exciting to write, so I will close for now. Thanks to those who have encouraged me in this blogging process. I appreciate you!
