Blog Surfing

Do you ever do that - Blog Surf? I can get lost for hours. And, often times, I do. Well, tonight I found a great one. Some delicious sounding recipes - and they even seem quite simple. So, I thought I'd share it here. Mainly, so I don't forget it, and secondly - you might enjoy it too. It is called Picky Palate.

So, today was a fun day. Had a blast with my daughter. Yea - right. NOT!!! Something set her off, and it did not end til I finally had her in her room at school. She was none too happy to be there. But, I was sure glad she was there. And according to her teacher (love her!) she was just fine after that. Hmmm, what am I doing wrong. Nope - don't answer that, please! Suffice it to say that when she got home this evening after school and scouts, she came home to a quite empty room. Yep - all except for some books and 4 or 5 Barbies, her room is quite empty. OK - her keepsakes/collectibles are there. I didn't want to pack up all her rocks, all her shells, all her beanie babies, all her breakable dolls, etc, etc. But actual play stuff - it's gone. Haven't decided how she will earn it back. We'll see. When I told her about it on the way home - she said = thank you. HUH????? Thank you. Oh my. Made me scratch my head. Odd child alert. Yup - odd child.

We are preparing for our fun little adventure. Still - the kids haven't a clue. SO FUN!!!

OH - Found another site - a fun one. I know you can make a playlist on Facebook. And I have, but this is pretty cool too. It's called Pandora Radio. Fun stuff! Enjoy!

So, another day gone. yea. Hope your Monday was good. Blessings to each of you!

Another week begins!!

This is going to be a GREAT week. But - I can't tell you why, just in case any of my kids read this (doubt it!!). But my dh and I are truly looking forward to it. And a week with only 2 1/2 days of school - well, what could be better! And I only have to teach one day (Wednesday), and work at my *real job* on Monday. YEA!! Woo hoo!!

I will update later on this week, or early on next week with details. And pictures. Yep - lots of pictures to be taken!

So, I planned to keep up on this blog, so I could have some sort of record of what happens in my life, since I seem to forget so much - so quickly. And you can see how well I am doing with that. NOT! But, even if I only make it with a post a week, that is better than I was doing before.

Our oldest, Matthew, went mountain biking today up on North Fork. Wasn't it a beautiful day! So, (we'll see how well I do at uploading a pic!) here is a picture of him out today. Well, ten minutes later - I did it! He said that on either side of this bridge is a 30 -40 foot drop into a creek if you fall. You know there are just some things that you don't have to tell your mom!! This is probably one of them. Anyway, he has some great friends that he goes with, and he even drove (he can do that, since his friends are all grown-ups with licenses!) He is doing really good (well?) at driving. Totally improved and does well with changing gears, etc.

So, hmmm, can't think of anything else really totally exciting to write, so I will close for now. Thanks to those who have encouraged me in this blogging process. I appreciate you!

Thankful

Following a lead from some other blogs I have been reading - I am choosing to be thankful. So here goes - - -
  • I am thankful that I am married to a man who truly loves his family. (even though he was seriously grumpy today)
  • I am thankful for my gorgeous daughter (who is going to seriously drive me insane with her nightly fits - and she's not even a teenager yet!)
  • I am thankful for my sensitive son (truly a middle child)
  • I am thankful for my oldest son (by the time he leaves home, I will have earned every gray hair I will have!!)

Seriously - I am thankful for the family that God has blessed me with. He must think I can handle this craziness. Hmmmm, we'll see.

What a Fun Day!!

Well, the fun actually started yesterday evening, when I sent Vince and Elizabeth off for a date night. Our school was hosting *A Knight for a Princess* evening, and they were going to that, after going out to dinner. They both looked very sharp - but my camera wasn't working properly, so I didn't get pics. But they had aa grand time, and had a picture done there. I was there for a short while helping out with ticket sales. That was a load of fun, also!! Seeing all the little princesses, and their daddies or other important men in their lives.

Then today, Elizabeth and I helped out at a craft fair. She is involved in Destination Imagination, and this benefits her districts teams. So that was fun! Tomorrow, we head to church, then to help out some friends with some sad chores. Bill's mom passed away last week, so they are working on getting all her things moved out of her apartment, and organized and all that. So, we are glad to be able to help them during this time.

Then the week begins again, and as always, it looks to be a busy one. Hope your week goes well also!!

Wow - more than 3 years later

I guess you could say that I am not a blogger that sticks with it!! But, I will try.

So, in these past three years, we have continued on with life as normal. Vince enjoys (most days) his work as The 'Puter Tech Man. Hard to believe that he has been at this for more than 10 years now. And, like I said - most days, he enjoys it!

I have been teaching preschool now since Spring of 2006. I teach at Kid's Caboose, with First Reformed Church, here in Lynden. I also spend several days a week at our office, shipping out DVD's for a company we contract with - Bushido DVD. That keeps me busy! Most often, more busy that I wish to be. In my spare time, I like to do some scrapbooking and other paper crafts, and surf craft and educational sites on the 'net, and spend time with my family!

Matthew is now in driver's ed. You might want to start thinking about staying off the roads, come next April!! Seriously, though, he is doing a great job with learning all about this difficult responsibility of driving.

Jordon is in 6th grade, and having a great year thus far. He has some great teachers, and is really enjoying school. WOW!! It is so cool to actually say that he enjoys school! Plus he is getting plugged into the youth group for First Reformed and has fun there also.

Elizabeth, well, she keeps us all on our toes! She is a fourth grader. Blessed with an awesome teacher who really *gets* her. Elizabeth (now Liz!) keeps busy with school, scouts, unicycle classes, church choir, and upcoming Destination Imagination!

Well, I will close for now. That kind of brings you up to date. I will try to post again before the next 3 years passes!
